Production, installation and operation of 5D cinemas.

Nikolai Grebenkine,
CEO of «AET/Amusement and Edutainment Technologies», tells

In 2008, the «SUNRISE», the most expensive restaurant in Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, along with Mr. Edwards, the owner of one of the largest in the eastern U.S. theme park, "Pigeon Forge", we celebrated the completion of the establishment of his order, six-meter Tyrannosaurus…

However, I have to step back a little from the story and explain that at that time, my company, "AET / Amusement and Edutainment Technologies" has had a very successful experience in the field of animatronics - the creation of movable scenery for the film industry, and various entertainment venues. And things were going very well, and thanks to well-organized work, both in technical and legal side (including the rights), our clients are:

- Theme Park "Innovative Film City", Bangalore, India;
- Amusement Park "Aventura", Oropesa del Mar, Spain;
- Educational and amusement park "World of Discovery", Playa de Aro, Spain;
- Theme park "Tsitsinatela" Ureki, Georgia;
- Indoor Amusement Park "Yupipark", Toulouse, France;
- "Dinosaur Park", Ayia Napa, Cyprus;
- Theme park "Pigeon Forge", Tennessee, USA.

Each year, on IAAPA exhibition, that is in Orlando, we presented (and continue presenting up to now) a pavilion, and keep in touch with a huge number of specialists from different areas of the entertainment industry worldwide.

So, closer to the end of our celebration, Mr. Edwards asked me the situation on the market with 5D stereo cinemas in the former Soviet Union and marked that the market is very, very interesting. I was surprised to find that nothing I can say about it. I just did not own the information. Of course, visiting clients around the world, I paid attention to the signs with logos «4D», «5D», «STEREO», but dense work in animatronics completely distracted me from this sector of the entertainment market.

The next day I started to collect information. By the time I returned home, I was quite well informed how things are with dynamic projection equipment and stereo systems. What was my surprise when it turned out that what is happening on this market in the world pales in comparison with what is happening in Russia at my home in Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan... 5D cinema exploded the market.

I instructed the staff to gather information on all existing producers of dynamic equipment from the former Soviet Union. Suddenly one our old client from Belgorod called us with the question if we are engaged in production of 5D cinema equipment, and of course, it has become an occasion for concrete work on the issue with all of my vendors from a vast database.

Carrying out the order of his client, a week later, I clearly understood that the market offers us, any of my potential competitors (I am determined to work in this direction), what style of work they have. The information gathered about the 5D, 5D, stereo cinema, stereo attraction (How many titles on the market!), and the vast experience of working with a variety of systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrodynamics) in animatronics, helped to identify the pros and cons of the proposed equipment on the market and to know better the payback of stereo cinemas.

I am - a perfectionist by nature. If you do, do it accurately. Together with my technicians, marketing analysts and sales manager came up with the following conclusions:

1. 5D cinema market - a market which sells equipment for the conveyance of “feelings, emotions." The best one whose equipment gives the viewer the most thrilling and most extensive range of feelings, in other words, anyone above the "WOW effect".

2. On the domestic market hydraulic equipment dominated, and this despite the fact that electrodynamics allows precise control dynamic modules, and new developments in the field of actuators, not inferior to the dynamic characteristics of any hydraulics or pneumatics.

3. The market is still in the "wild" stage of development. Customers pay more attention to price, not thinking about tomorrow, about the effectiveness of the equipment they purchased, the quality. Some, in the pursuit of short-term profit, "burn out" quickly, either choosing wrong place, or selecting the wrong contractor.

4. Some manufacturers do not pay attention to the quality of assembly halls, and, taking advantage of the incompetence of customers, provide them with kits that initially uncompetitive.

5. There are problems with the content. Very strong "pirate" part, but fortunately, the information received, the number of major companies is preparing for a decisive action in this direction, and apparently, during the next year the situation will be changing dramatically.

6. On a market which is already experiencing a glut, the struggle for competitiveness. There radial projection system, the clients themselves are looking for ways to improve the attractiveness of their 5D halls. The level of "wow effect" is the thing that clients are more and more worrying about, and here we are the best.

Now we understand what is happening on the market, which we were going to come in seriously and permanently. It was clear what to do and how.

As a result of subsequent work, we can now offer its customers, people interested in a serious, reliable, most efficient solutions, do not forget to think about tomorrow, a few solutions.

We are fully confident and ready to argue that our solutions are the best.
